SHAH ALAM, May 1 (Bernama)

The Pakatan Rakyat Selangor government has no qualms appointing individuals from political parties not affiliated to it so long as they are professionals, Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim said.

"Our criteria is that they must be professionals, but of course we will give priority to those we know first," he told a news conference after attending the national-level Workers' Day celebration here today.

He said this when asked on the delay in appointing local council members in Selangor.

On the delay, Abdul Khalid said it was also because of problems in getting the right candidates.

"It's hard to make a decision but I am quite happy now because I have a few engineers, architects and accountants who want to serve," he added.
